Virgo Blue New Moon Eclipse
What a remarkable thing to experience: a blue moon partially eclipsing the Sun. Such a wild and rich experience our cosmic wizards have orchestrated for us.
The universe is very gently tapping on our shoulders, asking us not to forget the messages in the cosmic winds we were offered just 30 days ago when the moon was also new in Virgo (hence, a blue moon). The tenacious Virgo moon continues its deep bow to us as we find the humility to show up for the world. But our moon also asks us to give ourselves time to breathe, to rest, to meditate . . . to allow for anything that relieves the mind of its spin.
This eclipse is a reminder to access the patience we need to continue with baby steps even when we want to see everything resolve itself overnight. And a nudge toward understanding the difference between ‘helping’ and ‘fixing’.
What follows is the column I sent to you 30 days ago. Everything I wrote then, applies now. And having found your way through the last two intense weeks following the Pisces full moon eclipse, you might find something new in these words:
The Virgo Moon asks us to refresh our sense of what it means to show up with the humility, and the clear thinking, that we need to be a healing presence in our world.
Our lives are incredibly complex, and each moment offers an infinitude of layers and multi-dimensional options. Yet sometimes we get caught in one or two of those layers and lose touch with our spaciousness.
How I love Virgo for it’s analytical precision, but our moon cautions us to watch for the anxiety we can generate when we over-work a thought to the point where we can’t find our way out of the mind-loop. And yet when we accept our confusion, our overwrought mind relaxes and moves fluidly into the solution we couldn’t access when we were caught in the dizzying mind carnival.
This is an energy flow that grounds us. It reminds us to return to the quiet and essential rhythm of our days. Virgo loves lists. So our moon offers a few suggestions to help us feel more ‘ordered’ as we leave the wilder ride of summer.
1. Find the humility to acknowledge that you don’t know everything—lol.
2. Remember that you are responsible for the sacred human body that your soul has partnered with and do your best to make that body comfortable: Nourish it with rest. Take it for a walk or float it on in a lake. Make sure you’re offering it plenty of green food; some berries and nuts and lots of water. The health of your fine mind depends on the health of all your cells.
Your body and your soul made a pact to carry you through this life and they need you to spend as much time in the garden and wandering near wild things as you spend in meditation.
3. Notice how driven you might be to “help” . . . everyone, everything. Virgo is absolutely gorgeous in its capacity to show up, without any need for applause, and offer itself to whatever is going on: a flooded basement, a broken heart, an overly-stressed parent, a community torn apart by racism, a lost dog dodging traffic, a country torn apart by cruelty, a bird with a broken wing. But as you feel yourself propelled once again into the helping mode, allow for the times when the situation isn’t yours to fix. Sometimes, counsels our moon, sometimes no matter how much we ache to help, the situation is not ours to solve. And other times, a situation is so daunting that our better angels help us understand when we’ve done all we can and need to rest awhile.
4. MOST IMPORTANT item on this list: Whatever you do, dear human, please please please listen for that misdirected inner voice that shames you into thinking you haven’t done enough. You are enough. Your very choice to incarnate now, in this time, with your fine-tuned mind and heart . . . this is more than enough.
We have entered into the time of year when we want to harvest our tomatoes and our basil and make soup and pesto. We look at that peach and realize it’s a miracle: a flower that somehow turned itself into a gorgeous plump late summer gift. We notice that thing that for months we’ve wanted to repair and somehow, now, we find the patience to get it done. Virgo offers us a return to taking things one step at a time. It helps us sort through the many threads of our days with a sense that everything is interconnected, everything is sacred and nothing is ordinary.
Cherish all the bits and pieces of your lives, encourages this quiet and helpful moon. All of it. You are the miracle you seek. Your every breath is invaluable to the re-membering of the world.
And if you’d like to deepen your awareness of how all these collective energy shifts are affecting you personally, please drop me a note and we’ll schedule a time to explore the transits to your birth chart. Or look at a relationship chart, a child’s chart, a goddess chart or the cartography maps.
Truly, I bow to you. And to all Being. We are a vast network of light strands, illuminating and supporting kindness.
