Taurus New Moon

Taurus New Moon

Deborah O'Connor

Our Taurus moon helps us sense our part in the natural flow of Life.

We’re nudged out of our busy brain and into the sensual temple of our body.

Does this sound too simple for a time when all the world is spinning?

Taurus recognizes our longing for inner stillness.

So this moon asks that we stop a minute and make sure we’re breathing. When all the world seems to have careened into carnival mode, we sometimes hold our breath as our brains scramble for a way out of the mess. But Taurus helps us return to the only thing we have . . . our steady, remarkable human body.

Other signs in the zodiac help us feel our feelings or urge us to fire up our courage or maybe a sign helps us open to refined thinking. But the job of Taurus is to remind us of the sacred nature of our embodiment, and then it asks that we nourish and fine-tune our senses.

For just a few days, asks our moon, could you slow down enough to sense how fine-tuned your body is? And then notice how indelibly you’re woven into the natural state of being? Taurus reminds us that we are so much more than a brain. Our body is the home of our soul. How do we honor and nourish this human vessel?

I know this statement has become overwrought, but it’s a deep truth: Remaining present to the moment is the trick in dropping away from the weight of the world.

Taurus helps us become quiet enough to listen to the rhythm of our own body so we can gift the world with our unique energetic vibration, our perfect song.

As I write this, I’m listening to the exquisite song of a Townsend’s solitaire and watching the way the light defines the leaves on the red osier dogwoods. I’m kept company by a cup of jasmine tea and a bit of dark chocolate. And I’m reminded that so much of life is conspiring to delight our senses. We just have to remember to allow these embodied sensual guides some space in our wild lives.

Wishing you and all Being peace.
