Scorpio New Moon
Scorpio helps us find our way into the dark. By that, I mean it helps us push farther into emotional sensations that we might otherwise try to avoid, only because we are worried about being overwhelmed by the forcefield in the feeling.
This is not a character flaw. It’s a survival technique used by humans since the dawn of time. And once we find the courage to face into something we’ve been side-stepping, acknowledging the emotional truth of something is incredibly liberating.
Like the moon behind the clouds in the photo above, some of our feelings are illusive and difficult to track until we decide to stop long enough to let ourselves be found by emotional networks that aren’t obvious at first.
This is simple in theory but can feel a little spooky in practice because we have to allow for feelings that, at first, feel daunting or threatening, but once we recognize that they’re old emotional ghosts and send them on their merry way, we feel so much lighter. Liberating ourselves from emotional bondage ends up being one of the bravest and most freeing thing we can do for ourselves.
Like all the signs, Scorpio can misbehave. So our moon will nudge us if we continue to stuff an emotion that wants to be released into our more conscious awareness of it. And under the influence of this moon, we’re more able to sense passive aggressive behavior so we can buck up and engage with the feeling rather than tossing it at someone else.
If you’re reading these notes, you’re probably already aware of the dangers in by-passing emotional triggers and of the soul weight of unprocessed emotions. But not everyone in our world takes the high road with these cosmic invitations so you will continue to see people spiraling out of shape as they refuse to go deep and step up to the soul work of Scorpio. As we continue through our lives, it’s essential for each of us to connect to our own deep rhythm so we sense the unique gifts we can offer the world. I encourage you to drop me a note if you’d like to see how the current planetary cycles are available to help you better understand why you’re here in Time now; how to feel empowered to lend your unique gifts.
Before I leave you today, I’d like to remind us how our moon works when engaged with its highest notes: healthy Scorpio isn’t interested in taking us apart emotionally, or in giving us more to worry about. Just the opposite. When it’s behaving and we’re using this cosmic invitation with courage, Scorpio helps us free ourselves from worrying about things that have plagued us for a long long time and are ready to be transformed into a sort of soul-awareness that lifts us out of old emotional traps.
I’m fond of reminding myself that we find unfathomable depth when we look into the darkness of the night sky.
In reverence for all the light available in the dark,
Deborah
I meet you from the other side
of sorrow and despair
with a love so vast and shattered
it will reach you anywhere.
