Aries Full Moon

Deborah O'Connor

This may be more than obvious, but Aries is energy that energizes and it seeks out situations that will challenge it to be brave. So our moon, full of light and spunk, encourages us to consider how we will energize ourselves (and our world) with our courage in the lead.

Our moon asks us to consider how to use our passion for change with the patience necessary to forge a new path, one we can pave with honorable actions and a brand of courage the world doesn’t often reward.

This moon understands the inner fires that drive our desire to act, and act now; to take a stand for what we’re passionate about . . . and Aries cheers us on. But it offers a few words of caution so that we don’t burn ourselves out, or enflame the relationship, or burn down the house.

When the world comes at us, our primal brain sometimes reacts with behavior that arises from the ancient desire simply to survive. But we have options, says this Aries moon. The highest note we can hit when we just want to strike out is to stop a minute and figure out how to respond with integrity and wisdom. This does not mean we have to give up or let someone steamroller us. Choosing a response over a reaction requires us to find the patience—there’s that word again—the patience we need to figure out how to face into the situation with our heart lifted and our resolve fueled by hard-won courage as we side-step resentment or a sense of victimization, aware that these lower-vibration emotional states block our ability to make real change.

Our moon acknowledges that if you are reading these words, you already understand the difference between refined courage and childish bravado but this radiant celestial light still thinks it worthwhile, given the huge challenges that are challenging the heart these days . . . worthwhile to caution us to avoid breathing fire back at those who are breathing fire at us. It isn’t that we diminish our passion but that we focus it with mature spunk and refined activism.

As we integrate the cosmic message we’re receiving from the Aries full moon, let’s remember that if we don’t like something, we work to change it. And if we can’t change it, because there are countless situations beyond our control, we have to change the energy we’re bringing to our engagement with it. We have to be so careful to avoid resentment, or fear, or a sense of defeat because these feelings actually weaken our ability to act like the human alchemists we are. Think of yourself as a Ninja if that helps. Consider the value in patience with a process that you are not going to give up on.

Again, a deep deep bow as I wish you and all Being peace.

Do your little bit of good
where you are;
it’s those little bits of good put together
